I had just come home from my walk, assaulted by pollen, and I thought to myself: the moon in a fetal position. I had already had a blog post planned about mothers and mothering and the moon. I thought of my own Moon Pluto conjunction with its intimations of death and darkness. I thought about the moon in the natal chart as showing our experience of mother, at least one side of her. But the moon is also women. The moon is also family. The moon is also home. Pluto plus any natal personal planet is always a destruction and we live to discover the construction. Our lives depend on it.

There is no natal chart without a moon. There is no natal chart without a mother. You might spend a lifetime — a thousand lifetimes — looking for yours, finding yours. But it’s right there in your chart. It always was. Better not to fear it but to embrace it. Really. What does this look like? Learning about those planets. So one of my jobs is to explore Pluto and Moon Pluto. I wrote about it in this book.
